Complex emergent behavior of quantum matter

Overview
Develop solid-state synthetic quantum matter systems to generate emerging phases of matter in a controlled fashion, with the aim to:
- Develop a quantum matter simulator
- Understand the role of topology on electronic correlations
- Define a roadmap towards high-Tc superconductivity
These systems will be based on twisted van der Waals heterostructures and electrostatically defined superlattices made in two-dimensional crystals. These novel quantum matter systems will be probed in cryostats down to 7 mK using a wild range of techniques such as radio-frequency reflectometry and THz spectroscopy.
